This five-week course is offered through the Charleston and Conway campuses, and is available to project management professionals planning to take their career to the next level with the PMP credential. 

Demonstrate Your Understanding with the PMP Designation

The Project Management Professional certification allows you to showcase your project management skills while boosting your resume.  Before certification, you’ll need to fully understand the answer to the question “What is project management?” Instructors will provide a high-level review of exam subjects including:

  • Phases of the project management cycle 
  • Project management framework, five process groups and ten bodies of knowledge according to the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Applying the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct to specific situations

Course materials include the Project Management Institute's A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), Fifth Edition and online performance-based labs.

This course reviews exam material in both an on-campus and self-study online format, and satisfies the 35-hour education requirement that may be applicable for the exam. You’ll work with qualified instructors, offering you one-on-one review sessions and providing professional, career-oriented support.

Upon completion of the course, you’ll feel more confident in your understanding of the PMP exam materials and your chances for career success. With a Project Management Professional certification, Project Managers could move into careers including:

Information Technology Project Manager 

Plan, initiate and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards and cost targets are met.

Management Analyst

Conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplification and measurement studies and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively. Includes program analysts and management consultants.
